ERTA – the Algarve’s tourist board is dedicating it time to improve all of its tourists experience whilst visiting the Algarve, Portugal.
Dr. Nuno Aires who is the new president of the tourism board has made it very clear that he wants a holiday destination that makes people return year on year.
Dr. Aires believes that investing in training in particular the tourist sector will make the region stand out from the rest of the competition as a major player as a holiday destination for the summer and winter breaks. With golfing holidays at an all time high due to some low cost airlines reducing their prices recently, the winter is sure to bring a huge amount of tourism again to the Algarve region of Portugal.
Dr. Aires believes that the great weather and wonderful beaches already bring tourists back time after time but it is time to concentrate on the level of service offered. He has noted that the majority of complaints received are targeted at the poor levels of service in restaurants and hotels, and that by offering training to these key areas will provide a more pleasurable holiday experience.
As mentioned earlier the golf industry in the Algarve is a major reason why many visitors come to the region out of the main summer periods. The Algarve is host to the Portuguese Masters which is based at the Victoria Golf resort in Vilamoura, this is a great sporting event that attracts enthusiasts from all over Europe.
The Algarve has seen a huge amount of property investors storming the region over the last few years which has led to many properties being offered for rent on a short term basis.
